Computer Aided Design

Burns Golf Design produces much of its work utilizing computer aided design. Our software suite includes LANDCADD and Vectorworks Landmark, running on a Windows platform. We also utilize Macintosh computers for general graphics and desktop publishing work.

We have the ability to look at the golf holes, in full color 3-D, from any position. This, in addition to our increased speed and accuracy in calculating earthwork, etc., allows us to explore various alternatives for each hole. We can also quickly analyze the site in terms of slope, viewsheds, and other criteria.

In addition to the above abilities, we can print full-color 3-D images of the holes from any angle. Where necessary, we can use these to better communicate our design intent to the client and the contractor, and additionally, the client can use them as a marketing tool.
